Monthly Yarzheits

According to Jewish tradition, the Yahrzeit begins (and a memorial candle is lit) the evening before the date listed and continues during the whole day until sunset. It is traditional to recite the Mourner's Kaddish at a synagogue minyan of ten adults. Currently, Manetto Hill Jewish Center conducts services every evening at 8:00 p.m. with the exception of Saturday morning. Saturday morning Shabbat services are held at 9:30 a.m. At MHJC, the names of loved ones to be remembered in the week to come are announced at Friday evening (Kabbalat Shabbat) services at 8:00 p.m.
